Bios:  The Pulse Sensor is Created by Joel Murphy and Yury Gitman

Joel Murphy (BFA MassArt, Boston; MFA UC San Diego) is an artist living in Brooklyn. He owns a business designing and fabricating electro-mechanical projects for artists and designers. He teaches Physical Computing at Parsons the New School for Design, and recently launched Rachel’s Electronics, an online store for electronics kits and breakout boards.

Yury Gitman (BS Semiotics, GaTech, Atlanta;  MPS, ITP NYU, New York)  is an artist, inventor, and toy designer. He founded Banana Design Lab in 2005 as a product design company focused on “interactive lifestyle designs to entertain the soul”. Yury teaches Physical Computing and Toy Design at Parsons the New School for Design.  His artistic and professional work has featured in New York Times, CNN, BBC, Newsweek, The Discovery Channel, American Public Media, New York 1 TV, Elle, Bust, TimeOut NY, and Adbusters, among many other outlets.
